Who are Preston Vocational Centre (PVC)? PVC was established in 2009, becoming part of the Community Gateway Association (CGA) Group as its charitable subsidiary in 2013. Since its inception, we have welcomed over 7000 learners through our doors, helping them re‑engage with education and reach their potential. We deliver City and Guilds construction qualifications at Level 1.
What would I be doing in this role? You will teach plumbing to a diverse group of learners, including 14‑16 year olds, post‑16 and adults at our construction training centre. If you do not already hold a teaching / assessing qualification, we will support you to gain this whilst you are employed, providing funding and support.
What We Are Looking For
* You hold a City & Guilds / NVQ L2 or equivalent qualification in Plumbing – knowledge of other trade areas is a bonus.
* You have experience working with young people and can form positive working relationships. This experience may come from training apprentices on‑the‑job or voluntary work.
* You have experience in the construction industry with a good understanding of health and safety relating to construction roles.
* You can inspire learners and engage them in vocational education, encouraging them to reach their potential.
* You safeguard and promote the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults at all times and in all aspects of your work.
It Would Be Great If You Also Had
* Previous teaching or assessing experience.

The successful candidate will be thoroughly vetted and required to have a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check (including children’s barred list).
