Pay will be dependent on registration/qualifications.
NHS Consultant (GMC Registered) pay scale £111,430 – £148,064.
Agenda for Change Band 8d (UKPHR registered) pay scale £107,810 – £112,426.
About The Organisation
Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) unites expertise from NHS Education for Scotland and NHS National Services Scotland to support the renewal and sustainability of health and care services across Scotland. Screening Oversight and Assurance Scotland (SOAS) is hosted within the Clinical Directorate of PSD Scotland, providing professional and clinical leadership and ensuring effective quality management, governance, risk management, professional development, service improvement, research development, and innovation.
The Post
* Provide public health screening expertise to a portfolio of Scotland’s national screening programmes.
* Support the national screening coordination team, national clinical leads and national quality assurance leads.
* Offer expert advice and support to the Consultant in Public Health Leads for Screening across the 14 territorial health boards.
The Candidate
* Experienced Consultant in Public Health or Consultant in Public Health Medicine with detailed knowledge of population screening.
* Membership or Fellowship of the Faculty of Public Health, or equivalent.
* Registered on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council in Public Health with a licence to practice, or on the UK Public Health (Specialist) Register.
* Must undergo a Disclosure Scotland PVG Scheme check; overseas criminal record checks required if lived/worked overseas for >12 months in the preceding 5 years.
* Current GMC registration and eligibility to work in the UK.
Location and Working Pattern
PSD Scotland is a remote‑friendly employer with staff based throughout Scotland. Working arrangements can be office‑based, hybrid, or fully remote. The role is full‑time (Monday‑Friday). Alternative working patterns may be considered upon discussion.
