Our client is a growing company working on a variety of bespoke and commercial steel fabrication projects, including staircases, mezzanine, platforms, and structural frameworks. This role offers a mix of workshop-based fabrication and welding, with occasional on-site installations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Fabrication and welding of mild steel structures from engineering drawings
* MIG welding to a high standard (TIG experience beneficial)
* Assembly and installation of staircases and associated structural steelwork
* Operating fabrication tools and machinery (e.g., press brake, guillotine, grinders)
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment using a clean-as-you-go policy
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately
* Working to tight tolerances and project deadlines
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in a similar fabrication and welding role
* Strong background in structural steel, staircases, and balustrades
* Excellent MIG welding skills
* Ability to work independently from technical drawings
* High standards of cleanliness, safety, and workmanship
* Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
Desirable:
* Forklift licence
* CSCS Card
* Experience with stainless steel or aluminium
