Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery, located in North Lincolnshire, is a key asset of the Prax Group, a British multinational energy conglomerate dealing in crude oil, petroleum products, and biofuels. It is the only British refiner remaining in the UK energy market.
The refinery processes up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (up to 113,000 barrels a day) and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea, and pipeline.

The Candidate
We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer responsible for providing technical support, process optimization, and performance improvements for assigned refinery units to enhance safety, reliability, energy efficiency, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Technical Support: Deliver expert technical assistance to resolve operational issues and improve reliability, safety, and profitability of production units.
2. Process Optimization: Identify, evaluate, and support the implementation of process improvement opportunities.
3. Energy Management: Monitor and optimize energy and utility consumption, follow up on deviations, and conduct improvement studies.
4. Incident Investigation: Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
5. Model Maintenance & Improvement: Ensure accuracy of refinery process models and contribute to optimization via advanced process control.
6. Project Support: Support process design modifications, ensuring alignment with change management, and lead commissioning activities.
7. Catalyst and Additive Management: Specify, select, and evaluate chemical additives and catalysts, liaising with suppliers and ensuring compliance with safe operating limits.
8. Environmental Compliance: Support environmental reporting and manage follow-up on limit exceedances.
9. Process Safety: Define and ensure compliance with Safe Operating Limits, participate in HAZOPs, LOPAs, and risk assessments.
10. Start-ups & Turnarounds: Provide support during unit start-up, shutdown, catalyst changes, and planned maintenance.
11. Technical Documentation: Maintain and update Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
12. Interface Management: Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate technical data effectively.
13. Equipment Inspection: Perform inspections and manage remediation actions.
14. Team Development: Mentor junior engineers and industrial placement students.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
* Experience with process simulation software like PRO II or Aspen HYSYS.
* Training in HAZOP, LOPA, and RCA is preferred.
* Minimum of 2 years' experience in Process Engineering, Operations, or Projects.
* Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills.
* Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Organizational skills and data presentation abilities.
* Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
