A unique opportunity has arisen to join a highly respected British engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within a complex precision environment.
This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Operations, Commercial and Finance - ideal for someone who understands how products are built, costed and delivered, and enjoys turning technical and manufacturing detail into commercially robust pricing models and business insight.
This is not a pure finance role.
We are particularly interested in individuals with experience gained within engineering, manufacturing, production or operational environments, especially those who understand how engineered products are structured, routed, manufactured and costed.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, validate and maintain detailed cost and pricing models for customer proposals and bids
* Analyse Bills of Materials (BoM), routings, labour standards and manufacturing data to improve pricing accuracy
* Support bid and proposal activity by producing robust cost justification and commercial analysis
* Carry out variance analysis comparing estimated vs actual costs to improve future costing accuracy
* Work closely with Engineering, Operations and Supply Chain teams to ensure operational realities are reflected within pricing models
* Identify commercial, operational and compliance risks within costing and pricing assumptions
* Support supplier cost analysis and negotiation activity alongside sourcing teams
* Drive continuous improvement across costing, pricing and operational analysis processes, including SAP S4/HANA optimisation initiatives
* Contribute to improving data quality, pricing consistency and commercial decision-making across the business

Experience and Skills
* Engineering or manufacturing environments, including aerospace and defense sectors
* Production, operations or cost engineering
* Estimating, commercial analysis or pricing
* Supply chain, sourcing or manufacturing finance
* Complex product or assembly-based industries
Candidates with a practical understanding of how engineered products are built, routed and costed will be especially well-suited to this opportunity.
