Job Description
The Amazon Reliability Maintenance and Engineering team ensures all equipment, from printers to fully automated sortation systems, operates efficiently.
You will manage automated systems within our buildings and external systems interacting with them, focusing on fault finding, process improvements, project delivery across multiple platforms, and installation and commissioning of new equipment.
You will be a key member of a highly skilled team, committed to delivering high-quality results and seeking continuous improvements.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead and serve as the subject matter expert within an Engineering Team.
2. Develop code across different platforms.
3. Solve complex issues related to Controls, Fieldbus, and IT Platforms.
4. Understand Process Flow.
5. Analyze metrics for process optimization.
6. Possess working knowledge of Warehouse Control Systems and Telegrams.
7. Communicate complex problems effectively across business teams.
8. Lead FC and Regional Controls Projects.
9. Advise and steer Vendor projects.
10. Lead or sign off on Change Management Processes.
11. Act as a technical reference and escalation point for FC Controls Engineers, Engineering Teams, Operational Teams, and Business Stakeholders.
12. Follow Machine Safety Regulations and Safe Working Practices.
13. Develop Standards and Processes as part of regional initiatives.
14. Work within international engineering groups.
15. Develop skills within the Controls Teams.
16. Identify skill and knowledge gaps within Controls Teams.
17. Deliver technical and non-technical system training.
18. Support or develop IT systems such as IP Networks, Linux, SQL Databases, and Cloud Technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
* HND/C or BSc in Electrical or Controls Engineering.
* PLC programming experience with Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, or similar.
* Experience with SQL, Linux, Cloud, and IP Networking.
* Proficiency in scripting languages like Java, Python, C, Perl.
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently.
* Willingness to travel in a fast-paced, global environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
* M.Sc. in related engineering fields.
* Knowledge of additional EU languages.
