Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in an evolving Hotel Restaurant; to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food production, ensuring that all dishes meet our high standards for quality and presentation. As Head Chef, you will play a crucial role in menu development, kitchen management, and maintaining food safety protocols while fostering a positive working environment for your team.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient food production and service.
* Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences.
* Manage kitchen staff, providing training and guidance to ensure high standards of food preparation and presentation.
* Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
* Collaborate with suppliers to source high-quality ingredients and manage inventory effectively.
* Ensure that all kitchen equipment is maintained in good working order and report any issues promptly.
* Monitor food costs and implement strategies to minimise waste while maximising quality.
* Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging creativity and teamwork among staff.
Skills
* Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, with a strong background in culinary arts.
* A highly creative approach to your work with excellent attention to detail;
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
* Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in food production processes.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
* Experience in managing staff costs, scheduling and reviewing staff rotas;
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and suppliers.
* Strengths in finances, purchasing and menu costing;
* A passion for cooking and the ability to inspire others through your culinary expertise.
