Senior Building Surveyor (Commercial Dilapidations Advisory)
Location: London (hybrid, 2–3 days in office)
Salary: £55,000-75,000 + bonus/benefits package

My well-established consultancy client are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a high-performing advisory team focused on technical due diligence and dilapidations. This role combines technical expertise, client-facing advisory work, and the opportunity to grow within a commercially ambitious team.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality building consultancy advice to a diverse portfolio of commercial clients, including lease advisory, dilapidations, and pre-acquisition technical due diligence. The ideal candidate is technically strong, commercially aware, and eager to make a tangible impact on client outcomes.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and deliver technical due diligence assignments, assessing building condition, risk, and compliance
* Prepare and negotiate dilapidations schedules and provide actionable advice on lease-related matters
* Provide advisory support to clients, translating technical building knowledge into clear, commercially relevant guidance
* Maintain high-quality standards in all reporting and deliverables; ensure compliance with professional regulations and best practice
* Collaborate closely with team members and clients, contributing to business growth and client satisfaction
* Mentor junior surveyors and contribute to the development of the advisory team
Required Skills/Experience:
* Strong background in building surveying, advisory, technical due diligence, and dilapidations
* Proven experience delivering high-quality outputs in a client-facing environment
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations
* Commercially minded, ambitious, and motivated to grow within the business
* BSc / MSc in Building Surveying, Construction, Civil Engineering, or Property-related discipline
* Current/recent experience in a consulting environment
* Chartered status (MRICS) or equivalent recognised qualification is an advantage
