Protocol Education are currently recruiting teaching assistant to work in a highly developed special needs school based in Croydon to start immediately or from September. This school are looking for people with/without experience to work in classes of no more than 6 - 8 students, who have a diagnosis of autism. If newly experienced they will support and train you throughout the role, the main requirements are individuals who are keen to learn, but more importantly can show and continue to display attributes such as initiative, patience, positivity and someone who can work well as a team. This role will require you to support both the class teacher and help students achieve their individualised developmental targets by supporting them in a one to one basis, developing; communication skills. social interactions, manage sensory overload and support students within the community. Like most schools, you will be supporting students in lessons that include; numeracy, literacy, music, P.E., swimming, art, food tech, but also in lessons that that are specific to SEND such as sensory play, k9 therapy and physiotherapy. These lessons are tailored to meet each students needs and provide clear goals to help them develop academically and socially throughout the academic year.
