Overview
Hereford County Hospital is a busy district general hospital serving the population of Herefordshire, Powys and parts of Shropshire. We currently have vacancies within our team in Radiology. Are you newly qualified or due to qualify Summer 25? Or are you looking for a new challenge? We are happy to discuss flexible ways of working.
The Radiology department in Hereford has undergone significant changes over the last 5 years since entering into a partnership with Philips and you will have the opportunity to work with up to date technology. In 2021 we opened a new interventional suite, new MRI scanners and our third CT scanner. This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), due to open in the Summer of 2025 in Hereford.
The Community Diagnostic Centre will incorporate Imaging (Plain X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI), a range of cardiorespiratory investigations and pathology services in a "one stop" location to obtain diagnostic information.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will work at the Hereford County Hospital site initially and then in rotation between the hospital site and the CDC site which will open in 2025. The post holder will be expected to produce imaging to the highest standards, offer training and support for diagnostic radiography students from BCU, University of Gloucester and University of Worcester. The rotation will include CT, general X-ray, theatres and mobiles and there is a requirement to participate in our 24/7 shift system as well as weekend on call for theatre.
Location and travel: The post holder will be required to travel between sites as part of the role.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with a B.Sc Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualifications or who are due to qualify in Summer 2024. Our band 5 rotation includes rotation into CT, general X-ray, theatres and mobiles, and working towards cannulation certification within the first 6 months.
