What you’ll do
Technical Design Authority – Infrastructure is a senior technical role within the technology function, accountable for design, delivery, and optimisation of the Telco Cloud solutions. The position ensures that mission‑critical systems remain robust, future‑ready, and aligned with the organisation’s strategic and operational goals. It is responsible for the end‑to‑end lifecycle of technology used to provide services within the domain, and for continuous capacity management and system optimisation.
* Provide technical leadership to the Design community, spanning strategy to implementation and interfacing with internal and external teams to ensure technology meets customer needs and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate and direct key development partners and internal teams to deliver new and enhanced strategic systems capability.
* Act as a subject‑matter and technical expert in specific technological capabilities.
* Collaborate with partners to produce clear low / high level designs and development plans, driving quality and functional delivery.
* Drive effective partner management, defining and continuously improving delivery standards.
* Act as point of contact for defect resolution, ensuring root cause analysis, appropriate testing, and continuous improvement.
* Provide guidance to partners to support capability maturity and continuous improvement.
* Manage development performance in line with the domain’s strategic KPIs.
Who you are
* Demonstrable experience in technical decision‑making and problem‑solving leadership for a domain, with a track record of setting quality standards for delivery and design.
* Strong communication skills, acting as liaison between business, other technical communities, and third‑party delivery teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
* Knowledge of software development practices, processes, and tooling to support large‑scale enterprise solutions.
* Experience with both manual and automated tooling enabling rapid development and delivery.
* Experience with a range of infrastructure technologies, software delivery, and programme delivery methodologies, including Cloud (Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google), on‑premise NVFI & CNF, SaaS, and PaaS models.
