Are you a recent graduate and not sure what to do next? Or are you someone with a passion for making a positive impact in their lives? We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a university student, who is looking for a like-minded individual to join her care team. As a Personal Assistant (PA), you will provide one to one personal care and independent living support. This is a fantastic opportunity to help a young adult thrive in university life. Location: Oxford Brookes University (OX3) Start Date: 7th September Shift Pattern: Live in 7 days on / 7 days off Pay: £150 p/d ( £1,050 per week worked ) Free Accommodation provided when on shift Holiday: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata About our Client Our client is in her 3rd year at Oxford Brookes University studying Digital Marketing. She has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. She has a great sense of humour and doesnt take life too seriously. She enjoys watching Ice Hockey and Netflix whilst leading an active social life by meeting up with friends and family. With a joyful and delightful persona, she is keen to experience the full University life, going to pubs, clubs and live music events. As written by her I dont take life too seriously and would like someone I can have a laugh with. I will always ask for your help if I need it so just assume if I dont ask Im ok. Most of the time when Im just hanging out at home I like to be left alone to do my own thing, so you will also get to do your own thing as long as I know you're around so I can call for help if needed. I can walk short distances so this is how I get around indoors and I have an electric wheelchair which I use to get around when I go out. I would need my career to assist me in most aspects of daily life such as getting dressed, preparing my food, showering and helping me when Im out and about (e.g. shopping). But most importantly I need you to be comfortable to come out and socialise with me and my friends, I especially enjoy going to concerts and theatre shows. I also go to watch ice hockey most Sundays in Oxford and I would need my carer to come with me and help me with anything I may need whilst Im there. About the Job This is a fantastic opportunity to truly make a positive difference to somebody elses life. To assist our client to achieve her goals and aspirations. Our client is confident in her ability, with the support of like-minded individuals to assist him with: Personal Care Bathing, Dressing, Toileting. Health Care Administrating medicine, using medical equipment. Driving Confidant in your ability to safely drive the clients adapted van Daily Living Cooking, Shopping, Accompanying medical appointments Social Support Housekeeping / Domestic duties About You An Ideal applicant will be: A valid UK driving licence ( Essential ) Physically fit, calm, patient and caring Have good organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative Have a good sense of humour Be open minded Have a mature and responsible attitude Fluent in English Comfortable with pets Be a Non-Smoker Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
