Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
* Cultivate a positive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, analytical writing, and a love for reading among students of all abilities.
* Assess, track, and report on the development and academic progress of pupils in line with GCSE exam board specifications and school assessment policies.
* Implement effective differentiation and adaptive teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs, including SEND and high-attaining students.
* Contribute actively to departmental meetings, parent consultation evenings, and the wider extracurricular literacy initiatives of the school.
Requirements
* Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in English Literature, English Language, or a closely related discipline.
* Experience: A proven track record of teaching English within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
* Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge, strong classroom management techniques, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
