The post is suitable for either an ODP or nurse with experience in the surgical scrub role, and for students due to qualify this year holding an anaesthetic or nurse qualification.
Our new theatre suite, designed for day case and inpatients, boasts state‑of‑the‑art equipment and staffing levels that provide an exemplary environment where best practice can be achieved.
Our specialities (adult & paediatric, elective and emergency) include: General, Trauma & Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, Vascular, ENT, Dental, Farage & Maternity.

Accountable within the theatre team to ensure that the standard of patient care is of a high level, with quality being of prime importance. The role adheres to and practices within the Nursing and Midwifery Code of Professional Conduct and the Health and Care Professions Council’s standards, ensuring adherence to agreed Trust policies.
The position is primarily a theatre scrub practitioner, although some rotation and flexibility will be required to meet service needs. The post-holder will be called upon, occasionally, to take charge of a unit/area, and will be expected to participate in internal rotation, weekend, unsocial hours and on‑call duties.
The post holder will act as part of a clinical team to ensure that clinical care of patients and others using the service receive an efficient and quality service. The post offers the opportunity to further develop clinical and non‑clinical skills within the team. They will also be encouraged to take other lead roles within the team, uphold the Trust's values and behaviours, maintain public and colleague confidence, maintain professional and courteous working relationships with staff, and respect the equality and diversity of each person they meet. Upholding the privacy and dignity of the patient is paramount.

* Ensure all documentation is completed legibly, signed, and dated.

* Ensure information is passed to junior staff at regular intervals.
