Salary: £50,000 - 60,000 per year Requirements: Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, demonstrating strong knowledge of data warehousing and modeling. Proficiency in C#, Python, Java, or Scala. Hands-on experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS) and orchestration tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory). Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL). Familiarity with Azure services (Fabric, Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Blob Storage) and hybrid cloud/on-prem solutions. An understanding of data security best practices, GDPR compliance, and governance frameworks. Significant experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, SSRS). Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git). Experience with SSAS cubes, Azure-based data pipelines, and containerization technologies. A full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle. Desirable: Familiarity with DAX Studio for performance tuning and query diagnostics. Strong proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for creating complex measures, calculated columns, and tables. A background in retail, hospitality, or gaming/gambling sectors. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting and transforming data from multiple sources. Create and maintain models that support analytics and reporting needs, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Administer and optimize relational databases for efficient storage and retrieval of large datasets. Collaborate closely with software engineers, analysts, and business teams to deliver secure, reusable, and efficient data solutions. Implement checks and monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data. Maintain detailed technical documentation for data architectures, pipeline designs, and operational procedures. Analyze and optimize workflows for performance and cost efficiency. Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices to continuously improve our data engineering capabilities.
