About the Role:
A well-established law firm based in Central Manchester is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its busy Residential Property team. This role is ideal for someone with previous conveyancing support experience who is looking to further develop their career within a professional and supportive legal environment.
The successful candidate will provide administrative and legal support to fee earners, assisting with the progression of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion. This is a support-based role and will not involve managing your own caseload, making it well suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative conveyancing team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing day-to-day support to fee earners within the residential conveyancing department.
* Assisting with the preparation of contract packs, transfer deeds and other conveyancing documentation.
* Requesting and reviewing property searches and Land Registry documentation.
* Preparing and sending documentation to clients for signature and ensuring documents are returned correctly.
* Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other solicitors to provide updates and assist with progressing transactions.
* Assisting with file opening procedures, including issuing client care letters and completing AML and ID checks.
* Preparing completion statements and supporting documentation ahead of exchange and completion.
* Supporting fee earners with the exchange and completion process, ensuring all paperwork is in order.
* Assisting with post-completion tasks, including Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions where required.
* Maintaining and updating the case management system to ensure all files remain accurate and compliant.
* Providing general administrative support including scanning, filing and document management.
About You:
* Previous experience working in a conveyancing or residential property support role.
* A good understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
* Strong organisational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident communicating with clients and third parties in a professional manner.
* Ability to manage workload effectively and work within a busy legal team.
* Comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
