THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Project Engineer at VPS Emsys Maritime (Altrincham, Greater Manchester), you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of complex engineering projects within the marine and offshore sector. Due to internal reorganisation and continued growth, we are expanding our Project team and are looking for a driven and hands-on engineer to join us.
In this role, you will report to the General Manager and contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from preparation and planning through to execution and documentation, ensuring high-quality delivery in challenging and dynamic environments.
What you will do:
In this role you will:
* Support the Project team in delivering projects on time and within budget
* Prepare installation drawings, schematics, and technical documentation packages
* Develop project plans, methods of work, and risk assessments (including HAZID)
* Assist in the installation of mechanical and electrical systems on ocean-going vessels and offshore assets
* Work closely with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth project execution
* Identify and mitigate risks associated with offshore and marine environments
* Contribute to continuous improvement of project processes and documentation
What you bring
We are looking for someone who is practical, technically skilled and confident working with customers in dynamic environments.
* Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, Marine Engineering or a related discipline
* Around 2 years’ experience in a similar role
* Experience preparing installation drawings, schematics, manuals, and work instructions
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
* Experience with CAD software (essential)
* Proficient in MS Office, MS Project and other relevant engineering tools
* Understanding of installation requirements within offshore or marine environments is an advantage
* Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
