GMP Recruitment Agency Limited are proud to be partnered with a Worcester based, leading UK Manufacturing company. We have a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join their team on a full time, permanent contract.
The successful candidate can expect an hourly rate of up to £18p/h which is pending relevant experience, working 40 hours per week, which can be split over 4- or 5-days pending preference.
The successful candidate will work across a variety of mechanical and hydraulic systems, ensuring high-quality assembly, maintenance, and repair of equipment. This is a hands-on role requiring experience with hydraulics, cable crimping, and a variety of hand tools.
Mechanical Fitter main duties:
* Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems on a range of equipment.
* Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues effectively
* Perform routine maintenance to prevent system failures and extend equipment lifespan
* Repair or replace hydraulic hoses, valves, cylinders, pumps, and other components
* Utilise hand tools, power tools, and other specialised machinery to complete repairs
* Conduct testing to ensure systems operate efficiently post-repair or installation
* Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
* Assist with the installation of new hydraulic systems in accordance with safety standards
Mechanical Fitter required skills and experience:
* Proven experience in hydraulic system repair and maintenance within an industrial or construction environment
* Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical diagrams accurately
* Experience with heavy lifting operations using equipment such as cranes or hoists
* Familiarity with operating machinery such as excavators and forklifts is desirable
* Mechanical knowledge of hydraulic components and systems is essential
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and assembly processes
* Previous experience in electrical troubleshooting related to hydraulics is advantageous
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and safety procedures
