A friendly and inclusive specialist school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team as soon as next week. The school provides a safe and nurturing learning environment for some of the most vulnerable children in society, including pupils with learning difficulties, communication challenges, and physical disabilities. In this role, you will help the students develop their confidence, independence, communication and social skills, whilst making school a fun and exciting place to be. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children aged 5 to 16 with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism and social communication needs, behaviour challenges and sensory impairments. The school places a strong emphasis on emotional well being and social development, weaving these into every aspect of the curriculum. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will: Encourage positive relationships and interactions between students. Offer 1:1 and small-group support, adapting your approach to meet individual needs. Use de-escalation techniques and restorative practices to support emotional regulation and behaviour management. Assist children with their communication. Support with daily routines, learning tasks, and sensory needs. The school are looking for a bubbly, friendly and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to make a difference. Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults would be beneficial but not essential. A positive attitude is a must!
