Do you take pride in creating clean, welcoming spaces? Love the simple satisfaction of helping others feel at home? Then we’d love to welcome you to CrossReach as a Relief Housekeeping Assistant!
A little about the role:
You'll help us keep living areas tidy and safe, making a real difference to the lives of the people we support. You’ll be:
* Keeping rooms and communal spaces clean and comfortable
* Helping service users maintain their personal areas, always with kindness and respect
* Pitching in as a valued part of the team
* Following health and safety practices to keep everyone safe
* Growing your skills through training and team support
No previous housekeeping experience? No problem. If you’re hardworking, reliable, and ready to learn, we’ll provide full support. (If you’ve worked in a care environment before, that’s a bonus — but not a must.)
You'll need basic computer skills (such as Microsoft Office and internet use), and to be comfortable respecting the Christian ethos of our organisation. We warmly welcome applicants of all faiths, beliefs, or none — as long as you are comfortable supporting a workplace that celebrates Christian values.
You'll also need to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme — but don't worry, we’ll guide you through every step.
Why choose relief work?
Flexibility! Pick up shifts when it suits you, and enjoy being part of a supportive, caring team. It's a perfect fit if you're looking for a role that works around your life.
Sound like your kind of role?
We’d love to hear from you — and we can't wait to welcome you into the team!
CrossReach has been at the forefront of high-quality social care for over 150 years, providing loving care to people of all ages and supporting them to live life to the full, regardless of circumstances. We have worked hard to understand the needs of those who turn to us for help and have pioneered services that have changed thousands of lives for the better.
Today, we are one of the largest social care providers in Scotland, with experience across a broad range of services. We continue to grow, learn, and improve, thanks to the incredible people we support and those who support us. We are part of the Church of Scotland and aim to provide social care services and resources in Christ’s name to further the caring work of the Church.
As a Christian organisation, respect for all aspects of Christian worship is required.
You will also need to become a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks. Additionally, adherence to the SSSC Code of Practice is required.
We have a legal obligation to ensure all employees have the necessary permission to work in the UK, verified by UK Visas and Immigration. We will check the entitlement to work of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category.
We are committed to attracting, retaining, and developing the best people to build a diverse and talented team. We recognize that each individual’s background, experience, and ability contribute to our success. Our environment aims to be inclusive and inspiring, where everyone feels valued, respected, and able to thrive.
