Job Title: FLT Counterbalance DriverLocation: WakefieldPay Rate: £14.54 - £15.09 per hourDepartment: Warehouse / LogisticsReports To: Warehouse Supervisor / Logistics ManagerJob PurposeTo safely and efficiently operate a counterbalance forklift truck to handle, move, load, and store glass bottles and other fragile products within the warehouse and production environment, ensuring all goods are handled with care and in line with safety, quality, and operational standards.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate a counterbalance FLT safely and competently at all timesLoad and unload glass bottles and fragile products from vehicles, racking, and production linesTransport goods within the warehouse and production areas, ensuring stability and minimal risk of damageStack, store, and retrieve products accurately according to location plans and instructionsConduct daily FLT checks and report any defects or maintenance issues immediatelyEnsure all goods are handled in accordance with fragile handling proceduresMaintain a clean, safe, and organised working environmentFollow all health & safety, site rules, and risk assessmentsAssist with stock control, pallet checks, and general warehouse duties as requiredWork closely with warehouse, production, and quality teams to meet operational targetsAccurately complete paperwork or electronic records related to goods movementsSkills & Experience RequiredValid FLT Counterbalance licence (RTITB / ITSSAR or equivalent)Picking ExperienceProven experience operating a counterbalance FLT in a warehouse or manufacturing environmentExperience handling fragile, high-value, or breakable products (essential)Strong awareness of health & safety practicesGood attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressureAbility to follow instructions and work as part of a teamPhysically fit and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentDesirable SkillsExperience within the glass, packaging, or FMCG industryKnowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS)Experience working in production-supported warehouse environmentsWorking HoursDaysHealth & SafetyDue to the nature of glass and fragile products, strict adherence to safety procedures is essential.
