The Ideal Person
Minimum of two years' experience in a Finance environment, including:
* Preparing and processing journals and reconciliations
* Experience with a computerised accounts package
* Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
Or
Possess at least 5 GCSEs at 'A', 'B', or 'C' grades (including English and Mathematics).
And
Minimum of three years' experience in a Finance environment, including:
* Preparing and processing journals and reconciliations
* Experience with a computerised accounts package
* Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
* Fully qualified Accounting Technician (e.g., AAT / ATI membership)
* Experience in the public sector
Responsibilities
Assist with daily functions within the Finance Directorate, including:
* Preparing and uploading journals onto the finance system
* Supporting management and financial accountants with timely, accurate financial reports and reconciliations
* Helping prepare internal and statutory returns to ensure compliance
* Supporting end-of-month and end-of-year accounts procedures
* Preparing operational and strategic reports for decision-making
* Maintaining accurate financial records
* Providing ad-hoc financial information, including data extraction and document creation using software like MS Excel or Access
* Assisting with non-current asset reconciliations and stakeholder liaison
