The Estates Department is looking to recruit a highly motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work as part of a multidisciplinary team primarily within the Scarborough/Bridlington area.
The department provides management, development, maintenance, and operational support for the Trust's buildings and engineering infrastructure. This role is crucial for the maintenance support service, covering a wide range of engineering services to hone your skills. It offers a significant opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation and maintenance of engineering services in the Trust's facilities, within a busy directorate, and to be part of a team working to improve the quality and safety of healthcare facilities.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be based at Scarborough Hospital but must be willing to work at any of the Trust's sites. Flexibility regarding hours and participation in training, including Health and Safety, are required.
The candidate should have a good general knowledge of building services and engineering maintenance, backed by BTech, City and Guilds Craft Certificate, or NVQ 3 in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering.
Must be able to work cooperatively within a team, with experience in a maintenance environment. Reliable, resilient, enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision are essential qualities.
The role involves participating in an on-call/out-of-hours rota, for which additional payment is provided. The candidate must be able to transport themselves and equipment across the community during a normal workday.

Person specification
Education, Qualifications, and Training
* Recognized and registered ETIB or CITB (or equivalent) craft/modern apprenticeship or Level 3 apprenticeship
* Current driving license (category B)
* HNC Mechanical Engineering
* Additional specialist qualifications (to be achieved within 2 years): Ventilation, Pressure Systems, Medical Gas, Decontamination, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration
Experience
* Experience with Mechanical infrastructure
* Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and PPE use
* Experience with steam generating boilers
* Experience with pneumatic control systems
