About the role As the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager, the postholder will perform a pivotal role at the core of NHS Professionals (NHSP). Reporting to the Head of Marketing Communications within the Marketing and Brand directorate, the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager leads the strategic planning and delivery of effective communications to our corporate employees. Spanning across the different focus areas of information, communication and celebration, this position works with stakeholders at every level of NHSP, including our Board and Executive Committee, to ensure our team of 900 people are consistently engaged. The role will be instrumental in helping employees across the business to feel included and able to thrive at NHSP, through the delivery of communications that support the company’s values, EDI and wellbeing goals. With access to a variety of communications tools, the successful applicant will utilise platforms across the Microsoft suite including SharePoint and Teams, as well as dedicated email platform software, Staffbase, to motivate our teams in our mission of Putting People in Places to Care. Key skills and responsibilities As a key member of the Marketing and Brand team, the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing an internal communications strategy that aligns with NHSP’s overall strategy. This includes: Identifying and targeting key audiences and channels for communication developing engaging content working cross-functionally with stakeholders at all levels advise senior stakeholders on all aspects of employee communication and engagement deliver communications across multiple channels, including the weekly company newsletter, ad hoc emails, and hosting the monthly business-wide webinars ensure all communications are inclusive, timely, accessible, and celebrate NHSP’s successes align internal communications with business change initiatives and support EDI, wellbeing goals and awareness days manage relationships with senior stakeholders, including the People Team, IT, Operations and EDI Council own the internal comms request process, ensuring timely responses within SLA act as Product Owner for key internal communications platforms (Staffbase, Viva Engage, SharePoint, Rocketseed) measure and report on the success/ROI of communication efforts, adjusting strategies as needed As NHSP’s lead Subject Matter Expert in internal communications, the Senior Internal Communications & Engagement Manager will advise on all aspects of employee communication and engagement, taking into account complex internal and external landscapes/environments. This includes delivering communications around organisational change and delivering communications strategy related to emerging operational priorities. The postholder will be adept at setting and driving communication strategies independently, taking ownership of projects from end to end and will receive support from our team of Marketing Executives, as required.
