Job Title: Higher Level Family Support WorkerGrade: GR4Location: Birmingham AreaReporting To: Practice SupervisorRole Type: Temporary / Full-TimeAbout the Role: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Family Support Worker to join a professional, multi-disciplinary team supporting children, young people, and families in the Birmingham area. This role involves providing early help, safeguarding, and family support through evidence-based interventions and collaborative multi-agency work.Key Responsibilities:
* Act as lead professional for an allocated caseload of children and families, delivering timely, high-quality support.
* Assess needs using a common framework and coordinate multi-agency plans of intervention.
* Deliver evidence-based interventions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
* Champion a specialist practice area (e.g., domestic violence, substance misuse, parenting) and provide advice, training, and workshops to colleagues and partners.
* Maintain accurate case records, reports, and performance management data to professional standards.
* Attend case conferences, chair meetings, and provide guidance on safeguarding and integrated family support.
* Act as a Designated Safeguarding Professional (DSP) where required.
* Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of practice.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience in family support, social care, or safeguarding.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children, young people, and families.
* Ability to manage complex caseloads while working independently and collaboratively.
* Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and assessment frameworks.
* Commitment to personal development and professional standards.

* This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.
