Connect2Employment are excited to recruit a Finance Manager on behalf of Luton Rising.

Main purpose of position:

The purpose of this role is to provide Business Partnering support to the Head of Commercial Operations and supervise all accounting-related activities relating to the relevant departments. Maintain internal controls, generate financial reporting, presenting financial reports to the management team and providing budgets and forecasts for the Commercial department.

The post-holder will advise and support both the Commercial Operations team as well as the stakeholders and operators, ensuring always that Luton Rising's business interests are protected and promoted. They will be expected to demonstrate the ability to identify and apply creative solutions to problems whilst ensuring that critical points of detail are effectively managed.

Main Responsiblities:

* Lead the accurate and timely production of monthly management accounts for commercial departments. Lead, co-ordinate and be accountable for budget monitoring of revenue, capital and balance sheet accounts. Accountability for ensuring that all monitoring predictions are made based on the best information available, and in line with the financial timetable and instructions, and that written reasons for variations are provided in accordance with the timetable, concisely and accurately, in a format appropriate for a report to the Board of Directors.
* Develop, contribute to and commission the economic and financial elements of business plans and cases; including complex financial modelling, analysis and scenario testing for a range of projects and using a range of tools, and ensuring that such models are updated regularly and in line with business requirements, liaising with external advisers as necessary.
* Responsible for accurate year end reporting across the Commercial departments. Owning the financial audit process and implementing recommendations from internal and external audits.
* Preparation of revenue and capital estimates, budget profiling, and scales of charges and for the preparation of all revenue, capital and balance sheet accounts in accordance with appropriate accounting policies, legislative requirements, and guidelines and timetables and for making such returns as are required.
* Act in a manner calculated to protect and promote the interests of the company and of its shareholders, with due regard to the impact on, and concerns of, other stakeholders.
* Maintain the highest standard of confidentiality regarding the conduct of the company's business, unless otherwise required by law or authorised by the Board.
* Accruals List 24/25 reconcile to Balance Sheet
* Supplier Aging Report difference to TB 24/25
* Fixed Asset Register 24/25 to reconcile DART to Balance sheet
* DART Depreciation recalculation 25/26
* Budget Setting 26/27 preparation work

Essential:

* Substantial experience of accounting functions including budgeting, monitoring, year-end closure, financial planning
* In-depth experience of using IT based financial management systems and the use and development of integrated spreadsheets to produce financial and management information.
* Demonstrable experience of providing high quality financial and strategic advice at a senior level.
* In-depth experience of complex financial modelling, analysis and scenario testing.

Desirable:

* Knowledge of (light) railway in a financial capacity.
* In-depth experience of developing policy and strategy in relation to corporate social responsibility, sustainability, etc.
* Use of Sage Intacct or similar accounting package.

Skills/abilities:

* Substantial experience of accounting functions including budgeting, monitoring, year-end closure, financial planning.
* In-depth experience of using IT based financial management systems, including Sage, and the use and development of integrated spreadsheets to produce financial and management information.
* In-depth experience of developing policy and strategy in relation to corporate social responsibility, sustainability, etc.
* Able to grasp and comprehend a situation, its component parts and implications, and find and organise practical and effective resolutions by making and acting on sound decisions.
* Demonstrable experience of providing high quality financial and strategic advice at a senior level.

* In-depth experience of complex financial modelling, analysis and scenario testing

Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of equality issues and legislation and how they impact on work with communities - able to integrate equality policies into business plans, strategies, service delivery and employment practices.

A relevant qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with post qualification experience in an end-to-end managerial position.
