The School of Engineering wishes to appoint to the role of Chemical Engineering Technician.
The Chemical technician roles provide essential support for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching as well as for ongoing research projects. They ensure compliance with legal responsibilities within the Health and Safety at Work Act and other legislative requirements. They provide health and safety inductions for all staff and students working Chemical Engineering.
In the role, you will provide assistance with undergraduate practical laboratories and some research projects across the different academic disciplines within the School.
You will have experience of Chemical laboratory techniques, health and safety compliance, including the use of compressed gases.
Your work will include liaison with other technical staff, teaching staff, students, Estates and Human Resources as well as external inspection and audit organisations. You will also be expected to undertake work of a confidential nature on a regular basis. Applicants should be excellent communicators able to work both independently and in a team.

This role is a full-time, 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, based on-site at Bailrigg.
