Carmichael UK are seeking an Environmental Advisor to join a leading Tier 1 contractor on a major infrastructure project in London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in driving environmental performance, compliance, and innovation on one of the capital’s flagship construction schemes.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the achievement of environmental objectives in line with company policy and industry best practice.
Develop and review key environmental documentation, including Environmental Management Plans, Site Waste Management Plans, and Dewatering Management Plans.
Deliver environmental briefings, toolbox talks, and training to raise awareness across the workforce and supply chain.
Monitor site activities, ensuring compliance with Works Information, internal standards, and relevant legislation.
Assist in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and sustainability reporting.
Promote continuous improvement, innovation, and customer requirements throughout the project team.
Accurately track and report environmental performance using tools such as SmartWaste and internal trackers.
Skills & Experience:
Degree or Masters in a relevant discipline (all considered).
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
Proactive, analytical, and results-driven, with the ability to work under pressure.
Commercial awareness and understanding of the construction industry.
Confident user of Microsoft Office.
Right to work in the UK & Ireland.
Desirable:
IEMA membership or equivalent.
Knowledge of environmental and health & safety legislation.
Previous environmental experience within construction.
CSCS Card
