Overview
The Midwifery Support Worker (MSW) will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team within the Community and Maternity unit. 27 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Behave in a professional manner and ensures effective communication with colleagues, women and their families.
* Works to promote individualised care, specific to the needs of the women and her family.
* Works in partnership with women and professionals both internally and external to the Trust to provide an effective network of care for the women in their care.
* It is expected that the Midwifery Support Worker will continue to develop their own capabilities and knowledge of midwifery support tasks in line with the Trust career pathway.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to join the Community Midwifery team to support the midwives with caring for women and their families in the antenatal period and following the birth of their baby.
Duties
* Assisting community midwives in antenatal clinics
* Completed newborn blood spot
* Postnatal checks for Mothers/birthing people and their new born babies
* Assisting with antenatal education classes
* Feeding support
* Ordering of stock
