Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic
Level 4 Sports Coach Apprentice
to join our coaching team. This is a community-facing role where you'll support the planning and delivery of PE lessons, school sport sessions, holiday camps, birthday parties, after-school clubs, and other community events.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in sports coaching and gain real-world experience while earning a recognised Level 4 qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging sports and physical activity sessions for children and young people in schools and community settings
* Assist in teaching
PE lessons
, running
holiday camps
, facilitating
birthday parties
, and leading
after-school clubs
* Support the creation of fun, safe, and inclusive environments for all participants
* Monitor and assess participant progress; provide constructive feedback and encouragement
* Ensure health and safety, safeguarding and risk management protocols are followed at all times
* Set up and maintain sports equipment, helping to manage resources across multiple sites
* Represent WR Sports Ltd professionally in all environments (schools, community, parent-facing sessions)
* Support administrative duties, including attendance records, registers and feedback forms
* Engage in ongoing training, CPD and personal development as part of the apprenticeship
Essential Requirements
* Full
UK driving licence
and access to a vehicle (mandatory – due to travel between sites)
* Passion for working with children and promoting sport and physical activity
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Punctual, professional, and reliable – able to work independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to work during school holidays, weekends, and occasional evenings
Desirable (but not essential):
* Previous experience delivering or assisting in sports coaching sessions
* Knowledge of safeguarding and First Aid
* Sports-specific qualifications (e.g. FA Level 1/2, Multi-Skills, Gymnastics, etc.)
Qualifications
* Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or Functional Skills equivalent – or willingness to work towards these as part of the apprenticeship
