The Position You will be a key member of the team, carrying out the professional duties of a teacher while taking direct responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Special Educational Unit (SEU). You will: oversee the daily organisation of the SEU, including staff inductions, performance reviews, and coordinating cover in response to absences model strong practice and deliver high-quality lessons, specifically for pupils with learning disabilities take responsibility for the standards and progress achieved by specified classes/year groups and monitoring the specific needs of pupils with SEN work with the principal to identify training needs and designing / delivering professional development to ensure the team maintains high standards act as a vital link to trust-wide groups, attending meetings to represent the school's position and communicate outcomes back to the principal to drive school improvement. What you will offer You will: have a previous experience working in a SEN provision be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) be able to demonstrate knowledge of effective strategies to meet the specific communication needs of pupils with significant SEND be able to plan lessons effectively for groups and all the pupils have successful teaching experience across primary, secondary or both have strong subject knowledge in your own subject and also the ability to teach across other subject areas.
