Overview
NHS Forth Valley is seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality and Patient Safety Lead to join our team. This is a key leadership role, supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and person-centred care across our services. You will work collaboratively with clinical and operational teams to drive continuous improvement, ensure compliance with national standards, and foster a culture of safety, learning, and quality.
Responsibilities
* Provide expert leadership and advice on all aspects of quality, patient safety, and governance across NHS Forth Valley.
* Support development of a Quality Management System for NHS Forth Valley.
* Work with Clinical Governance to support and assure the implementation of and shared learning identified through patient safety reviews across NHS FV.
* Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement initiatives in line with NHS Scotland and local priorities.
* Support the implementation of the NHS Scotland Patient Safety Programs and other national standards and frameworks.
* Advise and support teams in developing and delivering SMART action plans in response to recommendations and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and present reports to relevant governance groups, including the Clinical Governance Committee.
* Ensure compliance with Healthcare Improvement Scotland standards and other regulatory bodies.
* Promote a culture of openness, transparency, and continuous improvement.
* Support staff training and development in quality and safety practices.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed best practice and drive innovation in patient care.
Person Specification
* Educated to degree level in a relevant field.
* Lead Level Quality Improvement Qualification.
* Significant experience in quality, safety, or clinical governance within a healthcare setting.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyse complex information and present findings clearly.
* Experience of leading change and quality improvement projects.
* Knowledge of national quality and safety frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIS, SPSP).
* Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
