HGV Class 1 Driver - Wakefield
Location: Wakefield
Job Type: Full-time- Temp to Perm
Salary: £15.53 p/h (paid weekly)
Start Date: Immediate starts available
Hours: 6am Starts | Mon-Tues (Double) & Wed-Fri (Drop & Swap)
About the Role
We are recruiting reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our logistics team in Wakefield. This role involves trunking, depot-to-depot runs, and general haulage work, with minimal manual handling. You'll be operating modern, well-maintained vehicles and representing the company professionally at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle in line with UK driving regulations.
* Complete trunking runs, depot deliveries, and collections as scheduled.
* Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork, including delivery notes and driver logs.
* Conduct daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
* Maintain excellent communication with transport planners and warehouse staff.
* Adhere to Tachograph, Drivers' Hours, and Working Time Directive regulations.
* Ensure goods are transported securely and arrive on time.
* Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at customer sites.
Requirements
* Valid UK Class 1 (C+E) licence.
* Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
* Minimum of 6 months Class 1 driving experience (preferred, not always essential).
* Good understanding of driving laws and safety standards.
* Strong communication, reliability, and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and follow scheduled routes.
