Position Overview
The Payroll Services Specialist is responsible for the preparation of payroll input to payroll vendors, processing of standard and off‑cycle payroll runs, managing strict payroll calendars, and maintaining payroll software systems to process payroll efficiently. This position reports to the Global Payroll Manager, and is part of the HR Systems & Analytics Team located in Cambridge and will be an on‑site role.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Shared Services team to prepare payroll input, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
* Provide payroll input training and support to Shared Service Specialists.
* Manage payroll calendar timelines to ensure payroll runs on time.
* Calculate salary, overtime, ad‑hoc bonuses, and deductions.
* Process payroll adjustments as necessary.
* Utilize and maintain payroll software systems for efficient payroll processing.
* Collaborate with Systems & Analytics Team to implement system updates or improvements.
* Maintain high standards in responding to customers in ServiceNow, meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for crucial payroll tickets.
* Support wider HR team regarding confidential payroll queries.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy.
Essential Qualifications
* Experience processing payroll to strict deadlines (inputting and initial checks), consistently meeting cut‑off dates and delivering accurate payroll.
* Planning / project management skills.
* Customer‑focused mindset, meeting customer requirements and agreed SLAs.
* Experience supporting and training a team to deliver a payroll service.
* Stakeholder management skills (internal teams and external vendors).
* Proactive in identifying and acting upon improvement opportunities.
* Commitment to personal development and growth, continuously improving own performance.
