Salary £50,000 - £65,000 Vacancy type Permanent Categories Building Surveying
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Chartered Building Surveyor to join a well-respected, family-run consultancy that’s been steadily growing over the years and is now ready to bring another experienced professional into the fold.
The business is known locally for its hands-on, quality-driven approach to both traditional building surveying and wider project work. They work across a real mix of sectors, and the projects often include a strong architectural and project management element, so no two days are the same.
What the role involves:
1. Taking the lead on a variety of building surveying instructions – including surveys, defect reports, and technical advice
2. Overseeing projects from initial design through to completion – including managing contractors, timelines, and client relationships
3. Working on conservation and heritage buildings as well as modern commercial and residential schemes
4. Getting involved in neighbourly matters (party wall, boundary disputes, etc.), CDM compliance, and expert witness work where appropriate
5. Supporting the next generation of surveyors – the team includes APC candidates who would value your guidance
What’s in it for you?
6. A genuine work-life balance – flexible hours and remote working options available
7. A strong team culture – supportive, close-knit, and invested in long-term success
8. Variety – a wide project base spanning traditional surveying, architecture, and consultancy
9. Career progression – direct access to senior decision-makers and a clear voice in business direction
10. Financial rewards – competitive base salary with the option for bonus earnings based on personal and company performance
What we’re looking for:
11. MRICS or FRICS-qualified Building Surveyor
12. Confident in managing your own workload and working directly with clients
13. Well-rounded experience across both professional surveying and project delivery
14. Strong communicator with a practical mindset and a sharp eye for detail
15. Someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment where your input is valued
If you’re a Chartered Surveyor looking for more variety, autonomy, and a role where you can really make a difference – this could be a great fit.
