Overview
CONSULTANT PSYCHIATRIST IN OLD AGE PSYCHIATRY based at Queen Margaret Hospital Dunfermline Hospital Inpatient Mental Health Service (1 post). Permanent appointment – Full time (10 PAs).
This is an exciting opportunity for a committed clinician to join our dedicated team within NHS Fife working in old age psychiatry West Fife Inpatient Mental Health Team covering West Fife. This is a full time post (10 sessions) with close working relationships with the OA community MH team also in Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with other professionals and agencies and lead and manage change within the service.
* Contribute to CPD and peer supervision; participate in regular consultant peer groups and in-house educational events.
* Support the development of the non-medical workforce in response to medical staffing challenges, and contribute to multidisciplinary team colleagues’ professional development.
* Engage with discussions to tailor job descriptions to match consultant interests and strengths to deliver high-quality service for the Older People of Fife.
* Work in a flexible manner where appropriate and maintain close links with the West Fife Inpatient Mental Health Team and OA community MH team.
Qualifications and experience
* Fully registered medical practitioners with MRCPsych or equivalent.
* Appropriate CCT (or be eligible for inclusion within 6 months of the interview date).
* Interest in pursuing specialist registration through the CESR process is encouraged; specific support is available.
