Please note that this is a full-time role working day shifts from 8am - 8pm, 33 or 44 hours per week. Full flexibility is required.
In your role as a Unit Manager at HC-One, you'll value one thing above all: Kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist care homes. Every single person who works here understands that our residents are people just like them, with their own stories to tell. By joining us, you'll have a wonderful opportunity to give back to those individuals.
Being a Unit Manager means taking responsibility for a specific part of the home and delivering the very best level of care. You will also run the entire home when the Home Manager and Deputy Home Manager are absent. Responsibilities include reporting mobility issues, requesting samples for monitoring, or administering medication, always with resident dignity and well-being in mind.
We are passionate about ensuring our current and future colleagues can be their true selves, and that our workforce reflects the communities we serve. We prioritize inclusive working practices and invite applicants from all backgrounds into our HC-One family. We aim to provide a quick turnaround from job offer to start date, ensuring an excellent onboarding experience.
You will have proven leadership skills in a care home for vulnerable adults. Beyond that, your positive energy and ability to get along with people are essential. This role requires accountability, and effective communication with residents and colleagues should always be considerate and kind.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. It is important that you can recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and undertake additional training as needed. You should also be able to seek advice and escalate concerns when necessary.
