Contracting Solicitor

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across assurance, tax, and advisory in which the firm operates.

A look into the role
We are seeking a commercial contracts lawyer for our in-house legal team. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Negotiate contracts with clients, such as MSAs and public-sector framework agreements, and advise on contracts with sub-contractors, suppliers, and others.
2. Review and improve standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences and issues encountered during engagements.
3. Handle various commercial contracting issues, including local-country adoption contracts, agreements with member-firms, data-sharing agreements, secondment and placement agreements, and software supply contracts. Interpret contractual provisions and advise colleagues accordingly. Provide legal input on termination provisions, non-disclosure agreements, tendering documents, and disclosure arrangements. Advise on risk management and compliance issues.
4. Assist with collaboration agreements, referral, and introduction contracts.
5. Work closely with the Office of the General Counsel and risk-management team to advise and support our staff, including partners and directors, ensuring legal and risk compliance.
Knowing you’re right for us
The minimum requirements include being a qualified solicitor or barrister with:
1. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
2. Good knowledge of professional liability law.
3. Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management.
4. A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
5. Self-motivation and ability to manage conflicting demands.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting contractual terms.
