Location: Hybrid working with a base location of Corby. Some travel will be required as necessary to support projects across the group.
Reporting to the Supply Chain & ERP Programme Manager, you will contribute to the delivery of the Global Supply Chain strategy and the Group’s change agenda through end-to-end delivery for small and medium-sized initiatives and/or supporting elements of larger, complex multi-functional projects within the Supply Chain Programme.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Assistant Project Manager at RS Group you will join a team supporting our Global Supply Chain and have involvement in projects ranging across Distribution Centres, Inventory, Logistics and Warehouse Management Systems to name a few.
Key accountabilities will include:
* Responsible for the end-to-end management of small-to-medium sized projects with straightforward scope or delivering elements of larger more complex projects.
* Provide leadership to, and facilitate the work of, cross-functional project teams. Ensure team members remain motivated and committed to the project objectives whilst balancing the demands of any Business as Usual (BAU) commitments.
* Be responsible for project management core processes including scheduling and planning, resource management, management of risks/issues/dependencies, project reporting, change management and financial management.
* Support the appropriate governance approach and ensure it is applied to the project. Plan and schedule quality reviews, ensuring the relevant people attend, project deliverables are produced on time to the required standard, and any corrective actions addressed.
* Provide PMO support, specifically maintenance of key programme documentation (progress reporting, plans, risks/issues/dependencies, financial tracking)
* Support the programme management team to resolve any issues across the SC & ERP Programme
* Work with the appropriate Resource Managers to develop and implement suitable resource plans for the project.
* Develop detailed costs/benefits, benefits realisation plans and Investment Proposals
* Responsible for the accurate and timely entry of data into project management software.
* Identify and manage inter-project dependencies, ensuring visibility, with plans to resolve, and managed through with all relevant stakeholders.
* Ensure all risks and issues are collected, analysed, and where necessary mitigated or escalated.
* Manage external delivery partners and contractors when required.
About You

* Project Management experience: either leading or supporting delivery.
* Able to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels of the business and to various stakeholder groups, both in writing and verbally
* Excellent administration skills and good attention to detail
* Ability to challenge constructively, build credibility and work with integrity at all levels within the organisation
* Strong team facilitation skills - able to manage and motivate people at all levels in the organisation
* Remains calm during periods of pressure and / or when dealing with issues
* Naturally curious about acquiring new knowledge and best practice
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Strong interpersonal & relationship building skills, able to work across functions, geographies and cultures
* Fluent in both verbal and written English
