The Faculty of Design, Informatics and Business at Abertay University in Dundee seeks to appoint a Teaching Fellow in Games & VFX.
The Faculty is designated the National Centre of Excellence in Computer Games Education, and has pioneered integrated cross-disciplinary practice-based learning through its ‘workplace simulation’ approach to teaching and learning. Additionally, the University has been recognised as an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Education (Gold Award) by the National Cyber Security Centre.
Abertay is home to CoSTAR which is a 5+ year infrastructure and R&D programme focused on driving technological development and commercial growth of the UK Screen and Performance sectors. Abertay University is a partner for the CoSTAR National Lab, led by Royal Holloway London, and is lead institution for the CoSTAR Realtime Lab, to be co-located in Dundee and Edinburgh.
We are particularly keen to attract applicants with skills and creative experience in at least one of the following areas:
1. Unreal engine tools development, scripting and prototyping
2. VFX development in Unreal engine or Houdini
3. Gameplay mechanics prototyping
4. Application of game technologies to Virtual & Advanced Production workflows
