Melanoma Research Programme Manager (Maternity Cover)
The Melanoma team within the Division of Cancer Sciences wishes to appoint a Translational Research Programme Manager (Maternity Cover). The Programme Manager will lead at a senior level, facilitating the setup and delivery of a broad portfolio of national and international investigator-led studies, translational research projects, and funding applications.
The current research portfolio includes:
1. The DETECTION-2 Feasibility and DyNAMIc studies; large CTU-supported ctDNA-driven biomarker studies.
2. The ImmuneTox and ImmunoFertility studies; investigating side effects related to immunotherapy.
3. The Mechanisms and Biomarkers study; a translational sample collection study with various analyses.
4. Several smaller projects related to translational research and melanoma studies.
This complex role involves supervising overall programme management, financial oversight, administration, governance, and delivery plans. The Programme Manager will also identify opportunities and mitigate risks to ensure the portfolio's success.
The Programme Manager will organise the inaugural Melanoma Research conference, "Lab to Life: Innovations in Melanoma," scheduled for March 2026 in Manchester. Responsibilities include logistics, communication, and financial management. Additionally, the Programme Manager will facilitate the Manchester Melanoma Researcher's Forum, promoting collaboration among melanoma researchers across Manchester.
This role requires excellent communication skills and initiative to ensure adherence to University, NHS, Clinical Trial Units, and wider Institute policies and procedures.
