Cleaner Location: Wymondham Salary: FTE: £23,656 per annum, Pro-rata: £25,070 per annum, including enhancement for Saturday working Contract: Permanent, full time / 52 weeks of the year including 17 Saturdays during term-time Hours: 37 hours per week, 06:00-14:00 Monday-Friday, 08:30-12:00 Saturday The College has over 400 staff dedicated to supporting World Class education. The Role They are looking for a hard-working and enthusiastic person with high standards and the ability to communicate and interact effectively with others as part of their school as a Cleaner. Key Responsibilities The Cleaner is responsible for ensuring all school areas and spaces are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the College. School Areas Clean classrooms in allocated area, including floors, walls, doors tables and chairs; Clean corridors; Clean toilets. Boarding Houses Ensure all areas (communal areas, dormitories, stairwells and corridors) are cleaned within the allocated times to high standard including; Vacuuming, damp mopping, scrubbing and buffing (inc carpet shampooing/deep cleaning during College holidays); Cleaning/dusting all furniture, fixtures and fittings; Cleaning all sanitary fittings; Assist lettings in the preparation of the boarding houses during non-term time for conferences and events. All Areas Emptying bins and removing rubbish; taking to allocated point; Check that your area is safe before leaving; Adhere to all cleaning schedules and encourage others to do the same; Ensure cleaning cupboards are kept tidy; Maintaining cleanliness of cloths and mops; Reporting any problems/damages via CISS; Promoting Health & Safety within your area; Undertake any other reasonable duty as may be delegated; Skills and Qualifications The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others; Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team; Be able to multi-task and work under pressure; Be flexible and resilient in managing and executing their daily responsibilities; Able to demonstrate strong planning and organisational skills; Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; The ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.
