Mac Recruit Group require a Senior Electrical Technician to join a brand-new energy form waste plant in Lochgelly, Fife. Senior Electrical Technician duties: Conduct routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, and control systems, to ensure reliability and compliance with operational standards. Perform diagnostic tests to identify and resolve electrical faults, such as short circuits, overloads, and grounding issues, using appropriate tools and techniques. Lead troubleshooting efforts during electrical equipment breakdowns, coordinating with relevant teams to expedite repairs and minimize production disruptions. Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for electrical systems, including scheduled inspections, lubrication, cleaning, and component replacements, to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. Supervise the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of electrical equipment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements. Mentor and train junior electrical technicians, providing technical guidance, coaching, and support to enhance their skills and knowledge. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory levels, utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other tools to facilitate data analysis and reporting. Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, identifying hazards and implementing corrective actions to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to electrical systems and power generation to implement best practices and optimize plant performance. Requirements for senior electrical technician: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field. Experience as an electrical technician in a power plant environment, with a focus on electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of electrical systems and equipment used in power generation Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
