Tradewind Recruitment is working closely with a well-established Secondary School in Bolton to recruit a highly organised and experienced Exams Officer for an immediate start.
This is a crucial role within the school, ensuring the smooth planning, administration and delivery of all internal and external examinations. Due to the specialist nature of the position, only candidates with previous experience working in schools or within the education sector will be considered.
The Role
As Exams Officer, you will take full responsibility for the coordination and administration of the school's examination processes, ensuring compliance with awarding body regulations and deadlines. Key responsibilities include:
Managing the administration of GCSE and other external examinations
Liaising with exam boards, senior leaders, teaching staff and invigilators
Organising exam timetables, entries, seating plans and access arrangements
Ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
Recruiting, training and coordinating exam invigilators
Managing exam-day logistics, secure storage and post-exam procedures
Supporting internal assessments and mock examinations as required
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have proven experience as an Exams Officer or in a similar exams/assessment role within a school or education setting
Possess strong knowledge of exam regulations, processes and deadlines
Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Be confident working under pressure during peak exam periods
Demonstrate strong communication and administrative skills
