Our client, a well-established company near Shanghai, focuses on environmental materials, optical films, and advanced material development. They seek an advanced materials specialist to enhance their international R&D capabilities.
This role is ideal for professionals interested in sustainable material innovation, biodegradable plastics, modified compounds, and polyester-based materials, offering the chance to contribute to technological and environmental advancements.
The position is initially for three years starting at the end of 2025, with flexible remote work options. On-site work in China is optional, based on mutual agreement. The package includes competitive salary, housing, and family allowances.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead research in sustainable and biodegradable materials, focusing on alternatives to polymers like PBAT.
* Evaluate new materials for sustainability, carbon footprint, and market potential.
* Advance research in polyester polymerization, optical films, water-soluble materials, and PU resins.
* Develop strategies to incorporate sustainable materials into production, optimizing environmental and operational performance.
* Collaborate with academic and industry partners to enhance knowledge in sustainable materials.
* Promote knowledge sharing within the company on sustainable material practices.
Required Qualifications:
* Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Natural Sciences, or related fields.
* At least 3 years post-doctoral experience in advanced materials R&D.
* Expertise in material sciences with a focus on sustainability and environmental impact.
* Knowledge of manufacturing techniques (e.g., injection molding) is a plus.
* Experience with sustainability assessments and eco-friendly materials.
* Fluent in English; additional languages are beneficial.
