An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Senior Quality Engineer in Portsmouth to join a high-performing manufacturing team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring products and processes meet strict customer and industry standards. You'll be a key driver in maintaining compliance, enhancing operational yield, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement through Lean Six Sigma.
Responsibilities
* Ensure proper flow-down of customer requirements to production and test operations.
* Lead root-cause analyses and corrective actions to drive yield improvement and reduce quality escapes.
* Support the deployment of the ERP system to accurately capture process requirements on production routers.
* Conduct process audits and complete FAIR reports in line with AS9102 standards.
* Compile customer data packs as needed and support quality software system utilisation.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of technical experience in a Manufacturing Quality or similar environment.
* Background in aerospace, defence, microelectronics, or other regulated industries preferred.
* Familiarity with AS9100 and MIL-Specs/Standards.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a hands‑on, practical approach.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred).
* Experience working in an electronics manufacturing facility.
* Proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation.
* Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
