UX Designer (Must have central government experience)

Were seeking a talented and experienced UX Designer to join our team on a high-profile central government project. Youll play a key role in shaping intuitive, accessible, and user-friendly digital services that align with the Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and meet the needs of diverse user groups.
Lead user research and usability testing to uncover insights and validate design decisions
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including developers, product managers, and content designers
Apply GDS design principles to ensure services are accessible, inclusive, and consistent
Advocate for user needs throughout the design and delivery lifecycle
Contribute to design critiques, workshops, and agile ceremonies
Proven experience designing digital services for central government or public sector clients
Strong understanding of GDS standards, including service design, accessibility, and user research practices
Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Ability to communicate design rationale clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams
A portfolio showcasing user-centred design work in complex environments
