Adult Services provides support to adults over the age of 16 years who have assessed needs. The people who use our services (individuals) have additional support needs associated with learning disability or autism and require support to continue to live independently in their own homes, attend Day Support and meaningful activities, or have short break respite.
Social Care Workers (Main Grade) are responsible for providing direct support to individuals in various settings, including their own home, supported tenancies, Care Inspectorate registered services (such as supported vocational activities or short breaks), and in the community. The aim is to enable individuals to achieve their goals, identified priorities, and personal outcomes.

* The grade of this post is H.
* The rate of pay shown in the advert includes Distant Islands Allowance of £1.4808 per hour.
* This is a permanent part-time post for 25.0 hours per week, 52.18 weeks per year.
* Preferred candidates will be required to join or update their membership in the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.
* The successful candidate must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) upon starting in this role.
* This vacancy does not meet Home Office rules for UK visa sponsorship. Please only apply if you do not require UK visa sponsorship.
* No relocation package is available for this position.
* Interview expenses will be paid from within Shetland.
* You must have the ability to travel throughout Shetland at short notice, especially where public transport is limited.
* We are open to flexible working arrangements.
