VTA Recruitment are currently looking for a experienced Construction Buyer to join our client's team. Our client is a well-established commercial construction company with over 40 years of industry experience. Based in Monton, Salford. They operate exclusively within the commercial sector and are trusted delivery partners on multiple frameworks, including Fire Services, Police Authorities and the North West Consortium. They work closely with the NHS, Greater Manchester Transport, Salford, Chorley and Wigan Councils, numerous architectural practices, many schools across the North West, and the Dioceses of Salford and Manchester. The work includes office refurbishments and a wide range of commercial construction projects delivered throughout the North West region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the procurement of materials, plant and subcontract services across a range of commercial construction projects. Project values typically range from £50,000 to £2–3 million, with the majority between £180,000 and £500,000.
Benefits:
* Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)

* Working hours: 40 hours per week (8:00am – 4:30pm Mon-Fri)
* Holiday entitlement: 21 days per annum plus all bank holidays
Key Responsibilities:
* Procuring materials, plant packages for commercial construction projects
* Obtaining, reviewing and negotiating supplier and quotations
* Placing purchase orders in line with project programmes and budgets
* Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
* Ensuring best value, quality and timely delivery
* Working closely with estimators, contracts managers and site teams
* Monitoring costs and supporting commercial cost control
* Maintaining accurate procurement records and documentation
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Construction Buyer within the building trade
* Strong knowledge of construction materials, suppliers and procurement processes
* Experience working on commercial projects within similar value ranges
* Ability to negotiate pricing and terms effectively
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
