Peak District / Sheffield Area (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Flexible & Hybrid Working Available Full Time or Condensed Hours Considered
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established independent planning consultancy based on the edge of the Peak District, just outside Sheffield.
The practice works across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK, with approximately half of its workload focused on Central London developments, including major estate regeneration projects and schemes within a number of London Boroughs. The remainder of the portfolio spans a broad mix of residential, commercial and rural projects across Sheffield, the Peak District and the wider region.
As a small and close-knit consultancy, you will enjoy genuine autonomy, direct client exposure, and the opportunity to play a key role in project delivery from day one. The Role
You will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of planning projects and providing clear, commercially focused advice to a varied client base.
* Managing planning applications from inception through to determination.
* Preparing planning statements, appraisals and supporting reports.
* Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees and stakeholders.
* Coordinating external consultants and project teams.
* Advising clients on planning strategy and development opportunities.
* Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
* Contributing to the continued success and growth of the business.
About You
We are keen to speak with planners who can demonstrate:
* Around 2-5 years' planning experience within either the private or public sector.
* Experience managing planning applications and projects independently.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Excellent report writing and organisational abilities.
* The confidence to work autonomously whilst also contributing to a collaborative team environment.
* MRTPI status or working towards chartership would be advantageous, although not essential.
Working Pattern
The consultancy offers a highly flexible approach to working, including:
* Hybrid working with typically 2 days per week in the office.
* Flexibility around working hours and family commitments.
* Condensed hours across four days will be considered.
* Occasional attendance at meetings in London, although many are conducted virtually.
